• What is the Legal Deadline for Salary Payment?
Every employer shall pay to each of his employees, not later than the seventh day after the last day of any wage period, the wages earned by the employee during that wage period, after deducting only those deductions that are lawfully permitted under the applicable employment laws. This requirement ensures that employees receive their wages in a timely manner while allowing employers to make only authorized deductions in accordance with the law.

SSM granted a waiver of late lodgement penalties for Annual Returns, Financial Statements, and Reports submitted through MBRS 2.0 between 1 July and 31 August 2026, allowing eligible companies to regularise their submissions without incurring late filing penalties.
